Home SWEET HOME away from where I can have my own bed & blanket in my private SUITE.
SHORT & LONG TERM
DOG BOARDING
Dogs boarding with us will enjoy a staycation in their own private suite with tempered glass doors, they will include a Kuranda bed & blanket with pet channeled TV's during the day and soothing low volume music at night. Pets are given 4-5 potty breaks a day along.
Dogs Boarding with daycare are separated into supervised playrooms depending on size, play style and temperament, ensuring the comfort and safety of all our guests. They’ll enjoy 8-10 hours of open play that features brain games designed to improve manners and behavior. There will also be plenty of time for naps and breaks, should they require them. Dogs will have lunch in their home-style crates, he/she will be fed at the start of naptime and will have plenty of time to digest their food before they are allowed to play again. This private time is also when we administer any medications, if applicable.
We use home-style crates during naptime (12 to 2 p.m.) because it gives the dogs a safe place to rest in, allows them to have some “me” time and allows the staff to safely dispense individual food for dogs who eat lunch and/or medication to each dog if applicable. Similar to children in a daycare, dogs tend to easily adapt to the naptime routine as it’s at the same time each day and all their friends are enjoying the, often much-needed, down time as well! During naptime, the staff also thoroughly cleans each playroom to ensure the room is safe and clean before another exciting round of afternoon play!
After a full day of exercise and fun, your pup will be tired but happy when they go to bed. They sleep in our home-style crates in the same room they were playing in earlier, so they feel safe and comfortable.
PREPARE YOUR DOG
FOR BOARDING
Our boarding facilities are fully equipped to handle dogs of all shapes and sizes. If Boarding + Daycare you must first have your Evalution completed and passed. We recommend at least one day of daycare prior to your dog’s overnight stay – three days of daycare is ideal – to allow your pup to get used to the facility and have a better overall experience. Your dog will become comfortable with our staff and learn that you will be coming back to bring them home. It will also give our staff an opportunity to learn your pup’s personality and play preferences.
We ask that you arrive with your dog before 8am or at 2pm. on the day they are to begin boarding + daycare. Dogs may be dropped off as early as we open.

WHAT TO BRING
DURING YOUR STAY
We care about your dog’s safety and comfort. We encourage you to bring your pup’s own food to maintain their regular diet and avoid any digestion issues. You must bring a extra food for boarding as they burn a lot more calories in play than they typically do at home! If you forget your food for meals – no worries! We have in-house food for your convenience.
During their boarding stay, your dog will be fed at approximately 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., with a treat or lunch at nap time if you request. Food will be served and prepared exactly as requested by each pet parent. We’ll accommodate any special dietary needs your pup may have and won’t charge extra for feeding or administering medication.
You are welcome to bring any bedding that will make your dog feel “at home” and we will provide it only to them. We do not recommend bringing beds or large comforters unless you have an arthritic dog as we cannot wash larger items. (Please remember we cannot guarantee bedding will be returned in the same condition.)
As your dog will play in an open area with other dogs, we do not accept toys from home. Your dog may feel possessive of their own toys, and many are not suitable for the playroom as they are too easily torn or ripped.
WHAT TO EXPECT
AFTER BOARDING
After an exciting boarding stay at our Retreat, it’s important to ensure your dog adapts well to being back home. While at Pretty Paws, your dog received access to unlimited water in their playroom & private suite. However, it is still likely they will seem very thirsty upon returning home. This is a common reaction to the excitement of being back at home with their family. Please withhold water from them for the first 30 minutes that they are home. After they have calmed down from the excitement of being home, you should then give them a small bowl of water and continue to monitor their water consumption for the next few hours. Dogs that drink too much water too quickly may lead to vomiting, or in very serious cases, could lead to bloat.
We recommend waiting at least three hours from the time you arrive home to offer their next feeding. Again, they will be very happy to be home and quite excited. Similar to the side effects of drinking water too quickly, eating too quickly may cause illness.
Pretty Paws is a very active environment, with the dogs interacting for several hours per day. Even if your dog did not run all day, simply being awake can make them very, very tired. At home, most dogs sleep the day away getting 18 or more hours of sleep. Although we have a two-hour nap, and the dogs sleep approximately eight hours per night, they will be tired. Please let them rest. We do not recommend that you take them to the dog park or any other social environment for at least a few days.
BOOK YOUR DOG’S
BOARDING STAY
We’ll make sure your pup feels happy, safe and fulfilled even when you can’t be with them. Pretty Paws will be their home away from home and each day will seem like the most exciting day ever.
Keeping your furry family member safe and happy is our top priority. Before your pup starts their daycare + boarding stay, a member of our team will conduct a Meet & Greet with your dog to determine if they are comfortable in our open play environment. This will require a full day of daycare. To book the Meet & Greet, please fill out the new customer form and we will contact you. You must also fill out a new customer form for private boarding.
